Mancos School of the West unveils February classes

The Mancos School of the West is offering two workshops in February. For more information and to register for a workshop, visit www.schoolofthewest.org.

Silk Batik DyeingLearn the basics of silk batik dying through hands-on practice with Dian Law. Participants will create a silk scarf while they work on unifying color schemes with undercoats and overcoats of color.

The workshop will take place Feb. 4-5 at Mount Lookout Grange in Mancos. The cost is $120 and all materials are included.

Stained Glass MosaicsArtist Lily Russo’s instruction will cover substrates, materials, tools, cutting, tesserae, adhesives, design, setting and grouting. In this class each participant will create a mosaic to take home that makes a beautiful gift or new piece of home decor. All levels are welcome ages 12 and up.

The workshop will take place Feb. 18-19 at Mount Lookout Grange. The costs is $60 and all materials will be provided with a $35 fee.
