John Jorgenson Quintet will bring Gypsy Jazz to concert series

The group’s style is gypsy jazz, the dynamic swing music created by Django Reinhardt in the 1930s. Dave McCarty of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine has called Grammy-award winner John Jorgenson “not just America’s finest proponent of this exceptionally demanding flatpicking guitar style, but one of the world’s truly great artists in the Gypsy-jazz genre.” During his career, Jorgenson has played with artists as diverse as Sting, Luciano Pavarotti, Earl Scruggs, Barbra Streisand and Benny Goodman. He is an “A-List” session player working in L.A., Nashville and London and has appeared on numerous platinum-selling and Grammy-winning CDs. Each member of the John Jorgenson Quintet, consisting of lead and rhythm guitar, violin, bass and drums, is a virtuoso, yet the music is very accessible, melodic and appealing.

Single concert tickets will be available at the door for $20 for adults and $5 for youths. Season tickets will also be available for $45 for adults and $5 for youths 18 years old and under. Season tickets also provide entry to concerts in Gallup, N.M., and Delta, Colo., at no additional charge.
