So you think you can doodle? Weve all fallen victim to boredom and wanted to pass the time or just wanted to doodle something memorable, and took pen to paper.
And then there are crayons. How many of use spent hours scrawling images in every color that came out of the box?
Doodling seems to be part of our DNA.
But when it comes to devoted dynamic dazzling doodlers, few can compete with the youngsters who competed in the Doodle for Google Internet competition.
Bayfield seventh-grader Jimmy Ferguson is a finalist for Colorado.
There were more than 114,000 entries from across the country.
There could be two national winners picked in from the finalists in five different divisions from kindergarten to high school senior. The national vote winner will receive a $5,000 college scholarship. The national winner picked by judges will win a $30,000 scholarship.
Here in Southwest Colorado and Northwestern New Mexico, the impact and inspiration of the ancient Native American tribes have long grabbed the attention of many.
For 13-year-old Albuquerque seventh-grader Merritt Barnwell, that was her inspiration for her doodle In Search of an Ancient Culture.
As the New Mexico winner, she will join Ferguson as a national finalist.
These diverse, detailed and distinguished doodlers display a special artistic ability.
People can vote for their favorite Google Doodle until May 10 by going to http://www.google.com/doodle4google/vote.html.
