Add some bubbly - personality, that is - to the new year. The Cortez Animal Shelter invites you to consider these six puppies (five females, and one male) Labrador, Border collie, and Australian shepherd mix. The one all-black puppy is a boy. Eight weeks old, these are very sweet, happy pups. These babies will need a lot of room to grow and will make some great family pets. They all have different personalities, some bouncy and boisterous, some quiet and reserved. The shelter also has irresistible kittens and cats, including a friendly and very cuddly pair of brawny black and white adult cats found abandoned in an apartment - all share a quest for a forever home. The shelter is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on alternate Fridays; they will be open this Friday; they will close early at 11:30 a.m. on New Year's Eve, Monday. They will also be closed on Tuesday, New Year's Day. The shelter will reopen on Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 10 a.m. The fee for adoption includes spaying or neutering, vaccination and microchipping. The shelter needs donations of non-clumping cat litter and cleaning supplies such as paper towels, Pine Sol and unscented bleach. For more information, call the shelter at 565-4910.
