Over 100 parents and students came to the Mancos K-12 Education Fair Thursday night in the Mancos school cafeteria from 5 to 7 p.m.
The science fair projects created by students in grades 5 through 8 were on display prior to judging on Friday. High school student artwork was displayed along with numerous projects from the elementary school. Middle school History Day projects were displayed for the first time prior to their competition in Durango in March and projects from the Spanish class took us on a tour through Latin America. Writing samples from middle and high school students were also available.
Easton LaChappelle was there to demonstrate his award winning robotic arm and students got the opportunity to see the Nickelodeon "Figure It Out" episode he was featured in.
The fundraising dinner was a success and helped to bring in extra funds for incentive trips at the middle school. School faculty was present to provide tools and information to parents on how to use PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) at home to reward behavior and the RtI grant committee created a display to communicate interventions in place K-12 to help students reach their academic goals.
Thank you to all who showed up to look at the fantastic work students are doing.
