Grocery stores make reducing food waste a priority in Durango

Compost company, nonprofits help divert items away from landfill

Table to Farm Compost has about 340 residential customers and collects 205 tons of compostable waste a year. A new partnership with Albertsons will provide compost for Twin Buttes Farm and reduce the amount of organic waste the grocery store sends to the landfill.
