9:01 a.m. A counterfeit bill was reported at a bank in the 70 block of West Main Street. It had been deposited in the night drop.
11:19 a.m. Damage to a school district vehicle was reported in the 200 block of South Pine Street. The steering column was damaged and needed to be re-keyed.
6:41 p.m. A woman was cited on suspicion of harassment in the 600 block of South Broadway. Two women were engaged in a verbal altercation about their dogs, and one woman allegedly pushed the other woman.
7:42 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and cited for failure to provide proof of insurance and failure to stop at a stop sign in the 800 block of East Main Street. A breath test indicated a BAC level over the legal limit.
8:28 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order in the 800 block of East Main Street. The man refused to be checked by hospital staff and became combative. He was transported to the jail.
9:53 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in the 600 block of South Broadway.
Thursday, Aug. 27
12:50 a.m. A woman was cited on suspicion of disturbing the peace in the 500 block of South Madison Street. This was the second call about a disturbance at the location. The apartment occupants appeared to be intoxicated.
10:25 a.m. A man was arrested on four active warrants and was cited on suspicion of violating two protection orders in the 800 block of East Main Street. The man allegedly was yelling at people in the park. He appeared intoxicated – a violation of two protection orders – and might have been under the influence of illegal drugs. He resisted arrest, attacked officers and injured himself by slamming his head into the ground. He was restrained by EMS.
6 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of disturbing the peace at Parque de Vida for allegedly yelling profanities at a girls soccer team and two coaches who were conducting practice.
7:13 p.m. A man was arrested on an active misdemeanor warrant in the 1100 block of Lebanon Road after being pulled over for speeding.
8:44 p.m. A man was arrested in the 1100 block of East Main Street on a warrant for failure to appear.
10:34 p.m. A man was arrested in the 400 block of North State Street on an active warrant and for a felony investigation hold on suspicion of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured vehicle and failing to register a vehicle. He had been stopped for speeding.
Friday, Aug. 28
11:28 a.m. A man was arrested on an active municipal warrant in the 400 block of West Seventh Street. Police responded to the scene for a reported fight, which apparently had ended before they arrived.
12:27 p.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of violating two protection orders against consuming alcohol in the 400 block of East Main Street. A theft had been reported, and when the woman was questioned, she appeared to be intoxicated. A breath test revealed a BAC level above the legal limit.
7:23 p.m. A woman was cited on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. An employee witnessed the woman and a friend tear tags off items and taking possession of them.
9:04 p.m. A man was arrested for DUI, missing tail lamps on a vehicle, failure to stop at a stop sign and driving with a suspended license in the 200 block of East Third Street. The driver was pulled over for failing to stop at a stop sign, and several open containers of alcohol were visible. A portable breath test indicated a level higher than the legal limit.
Saturday, Aug. 29
1:49 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of a protection order violation, theft and third-degree trespass at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. The man had been trespassed from the property and was seen placing items in his backpack.
2:53 p.m. A disturbance was reported and two women were arrested on active warrants in the 1300 block of Mesa Verde Street. A man allegedly became violent and threw a rock at one of the women’s car. He then barricaded himself in his room and threatened to kill the women. Two of the women involved were taken into custody on active warrants. A warrant was requested for the man, but because of a risk to officer safety, they did not attempt to take him into custody.
3:33 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of failure to yield the right away upon entering a highway, and another man was cited on suspicion of operating an uninsured vehicle in the 2300 block of East Main Street. One man pulled into the road, cutting off another vehicle and causing a crash. The other driver did not have insurance.
5:25 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of reckless driving and hit-and-run in the 1500 block of East Seventh Street. The man was believed to have been speeding in excess of 90 mph and lost control of the vehicle. Witnesses said he “flew” over a hill then hit a fence.
8:43 p.m. A woman was arrested in the 500 block of East Madison Street on an active warrant for failure to comply.
9:02 p.m. A woman reported that she was assaulted in the 500 block of East Main Street. Three woman allegedly harassed and attacked her, but she did not know who they were and did not want to press charges. She was taken to the hospital with a fractured hip.
Sunday, Aug. 30
11:48 a.m. A man was arrested on an active warrant in the 800 block of East Montezuma Avenue.
12:25 p.m. A bike was reported stolen in the 400 block of South Market Street.
2:56 p.m. A woman was arrested on an active warrant from Mineral County in the 200 block of North Park Street. Another woman reported that the suspect has assaulted her.
3:29 p.m. A truck was stolen from the Walmart parking lot, 1835 E. Main St. Video surveillance showed what appeared to be a four-door Kia Forte following the truck. A passenger got out of the car and approached the truck and then drove away with it. An iPhone was thrown out of the truck, but a firearm and ammunition were also in the truck.
5:16 p.m. Several items were taken from a vehicle in the City Market parking lot, 508 E. Main St.
9:05 p.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault, domestic violence and violating a protection order, and was served with three warrants in the 100 block of North Mildred Road. A man flagged down an officer and reported that the woman had assaulted him. The woman became uncooperative and resisted arrest.
Monday, Aug. 31
7:33 a.m. Property damage to a window was reported in the 300 block of South Maple Street. The resident believed his neighbor had broken the window after a verbal altercation the night before. The neighbor denied breaking the window. The property owner said the window had been installed too tightly.
3:12 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, failure to provide proof of insurance, stopping in an intersection when prohibited, failing to report an accident with a highway fixture, and possessing open alcohol and marijuana containers in the 100 block of East First Street. The driver failed to satisfactorily perform roadside maneuvers, and a breath test indicated a BAC level above the legal limit.
7:56 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, third-degree assault, third-degree criminal trespass and a protection order violation in the Walmart parking lot, 1835 E. Main St. The man allegedly pushed down a woman because she was talking to his girlfriend. The man appeared to be intoxicated and had been trespassed from Walmart.
11:13 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of violating parole in the 800 block of East Main Street. While investigating a suspicious vehicle with a broken window that was blocking the drive-thru and leaking oil, an officer contacted the man. He appeared to be intoxicated and had the keys to the suspicious vehicle. Dispatch confirmed he had an active warrant and he was taken into custody.
Tuesday, Sept. 1
6:08 a.m. A man was arrested on a warrant in the 100 block of South Sligo Street. Several trespassers were reported, and one of the men had a warrant.
7:12 p.m. A stolen phone was reported inside Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., after the phone’s owner used an app to track it to the store. The phone wasn’t found.
9:22 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of menacing and disorderly conduct in the 200 block of South Sligo Street. A man known to have mental health issues and to be combative at times was harassing employees of several stores in the area. He threatened physical harm to several people.
5:34 p.m. A hit-and-run was reported in the area of Sligo Street and Main Avenue. A white SUV hit the rear quarter panel of a woman’s car. The male driver reported he had no insurance, then gave her his phone number and offered her $20 before driving away. He was not found.
9:39 p.m. A female inmate was served with a warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
11:17 p.m. A man was arrested on two active warrants in the 500 block of East Main Street. The driver was pulled over for speeding and dispatch confirmed the warrants.
