National Park Week kicks off this weekend with waived entrance fees at Mesa Verde National Park on Saturday and Sunday. National Park Week is held April 18-26.
“This is a great time for families to visit their national parks,” said Mesa Verde Superintendent Cliff Spencer.
Tours of Balcony House opened this week. Tours are $4 per person, and tickets can be purchased at the Visitor and Research Center. Spruce Tree House is also open for tours, and no reservation is required.
In related news, to commemorate the upcoming centennial celebration of the National Park Service in 2016, federal officials have recently launched the new “Find Your Parks” program to connect all Americans with their public lands.
