St. Tekakwitha doll auction will benefit Catholic Daughters

Juanita Adams presented a St. Tekakwitha doll that she designed and dressed to Kathy Patch, the regent for the Catholic Daughters’ of America; Court Sacred Heart No. 1606. There will be a drawing for the doll in July, during the celebration of Saint Tekakwitha’s feast day at St. Margaret Mary’s Church in Cortez. Kateri Tekakwitha , who was born in 1656, is the first Native American to be canonized. She became a saint on Oct. 21, 2012. A book on the saint by Nancy Maness will be given away as well.
