St. Barnabas Episcopal Church and Grace’s Kitchen are preparing for their 16th annual community Thanksgiving dinner.
The meal will begin at the church about 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 23, and volunteers will also deliver meals to the homes of people who sign up early. Last year’s event served more than 300 people, and the Rev. Leigh Waggoner of St. Barnabas said she expects about the same number this year. The church is still looking for volunteers and donations.
Waggoner said the church’s greatest need is for financial donations, since most of the food that can be cooked in advance has been purchased already. Kitchen volunteers have already started to prepare the 25 turkeys that will be served at the feast.
