The Mesa Verde Paint Horse Club invites area residents to join them for the All-Breed/All-English Open Show at the Montezuma County Fairgrounds at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9. The show is open to all breeds (horses do not have to be paints) and anyone can enter; entrants do not need to be a club member. The registration desk at the show opens at 8:30 a.m.; entry fee is $7 a class for non-members, and $5 a class for members.
The Clubs purpose is to promote good horsemanship and good sportsmanship in the Four Corners area. The group meets monthly on the second Monday of the month at 7 p.m., alternating between Cortez and Durango. The September meeting for the group will be on Monday, Sept. 10 in Durango at the Lost Dog Bar & Lounge, 1150 Main Ave. #B. The Cortez meetings take place at Jack & Janelles Country Kitchen, 801 E.
