I would like to thank FireWise, Bruce Short from Short Tree Service, the Dolores and Cortez fire departments, the U.S. Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management for conducting a controlled burn at Butler Corner and Critter Mountain Ranch.

It was wonderful to see so many agencies coming together to work at making Granath Mesa a safer place. Having slash piles sitting during a drought year is a big concern for all, but now that threat has been greatly diminished.
