The 2012 election is just around the corner. Here is a reminder of some important dates:
Our ballots are scheduled to be mailed to those who have requested a mail-in ballot the week of Oct. 15.
Oct. 22. This is the day early voting begins. The last day to early vote is Nov. 2. The early voting location for this election will be in the Montezuma County Annex 107 N. Chestnut Street and will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. You can go to that location between those times and vote, but remember to bring some form of identification with you.
For those of you who are receiving a mail-in ballot, there will be a drop off available at the Clerks Office, 140 W. Main St. Suite 1 and there will be one available on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the County Annex, 107 N. Chestnut St..
Remember, Election Day is Nov. 6 and the polls open at 7 a.m. and close sharply at 7 p.m. Ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day in order for it to be counted.
