An informational meeting for farmers and ranchers about federal government programs is coming up at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 22 at the Cortez Conference Center.
The meeting will be jointly conducted by the US Department of Agricultures Colorado Farm Service Agency, the National Resources Conservation Service and Rural Development.
Among the topics discussed will be: farm loans, conservation reserve, watershed and grants.
Of special note is a program for Hispanic and women farmers and ranchers. Those who believe they were denied farm loan benefits are invited to apply for compensation as a result of a possible court settlement.
