A 31-year-old man was arrested for felony menacing Tuesday after Montezuma County Sheriffs deputies searched for the suspect for several hours before apprehending him.
According to a press release from the Montezuma County Sheriffs Office, deputies received a report of a felony menacing, which occurred during a domestic disturbance in the 38000 block of County Rd. L.4 in Mancos at 7:10 a.m.
Deputies responded to the Mancos Marshalls Office where the domestic disturbance victim was contacted. The woman stated that an altercation occurred between her and the 31-year-old man and a firearm was involved.
Sheriffs deputies assembled a team and began looking for the subject.
The suspect, who had fled the residence prior to police arrival, was apprehended approximately four hours later as he was attempting to sneak back into the residence from a heavily wooded area.
The sheriffs office said no further information was available at this time and did not release the name of the suspect. The man is currently being held in the Montezuma County Sheriffs Detention Center pending formal charges.
