A woman and young girl are recovering from injuries sustained in two automobile accidents of a few days ago. Mrs. Tim Jones of Dolores and Peggy, 10-year-old daughter of Sheriff Dunlap, were the victims. Mrs. Jones left Dolores late in the afternoon, hoping to reach Cortez before the county offices closed. When nearing Cortez her car overturned, rolling upside down. She suffered bruises and a severe laceration of one foot. She was rescued from the overturned car by passersby, among whom were the members of the Cortez high school football team, who had played the Dolores team during the afternoon.

The Ladies Aid met Wednesday at the M. E. church annex. Seventeen members were present. After the business meeting, Mrs. Maria Giorgetta served refreshments and a social hour was enjoyed by all.

Bill Schlegel of Dove Creek, and Miss Cora Wright of Bug Point, were united in marriage a few days ago, the ceremony being performed at Monticello, Utah.

J. E. Wetherington has been indicted at Monticello charged with stealing a mule. His bond was fixed at $250. His case will be heard in district court.

Both legs fractured above the knees is the result of an accident to Emerson, four-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wright who reside at Dove Creek. The little boy fell from a wagon and the wheels passed over him. He was taken to the Cortez hospital.

Frank Butler, 21, is held in jail at Durango charged with grand larceny. He is said to have confessed to stealing a lot of clothing and wearing apparel from various homes near Bayfield, where he was arrested.

P.H. McCabe felt so good about the result of Tuesdays election that he came in yesterday and paid his pew rent at the Star office. Mr. McCabe has not been seen on the streets much of late, having been kept pretty close to his cattle through the summer.
