Startups in Southwest Colorado will showcase their companies to the public and potential investors on Aug. 16 at Fort Lewis College after completing an accelerator program for entrepreneurs.
“The program supports early stage companies in the area that have strong job creation plans and abilities,” Elizabeth Marsh, of Southwest Colorado Accelerator Program for Entrepreneurs, said in a press release.
The event features keynote speaker and Durango entrepreneur Travis Kimmel, founder of GitPrime, and includes representatives from the Greater Colorado Venture Fund, Startup Colorado, Rockies Venture Fund and OEDIT.
SCAPE is a not-for-profit six-month program that provides mentoring, development, branding and financial education as well as office space and capital-raising preparation for regional startups. It partners with an investment fund that provides seed funding for companies.
Startups in Archuleta, Dolores, Montezuma, La Plata, and San Juan counties may apply for the SCAPE program, which starts Sept. 1.
