Tables available Elks Christmas Bazaar



The Cortez Elks Lodge, 2100 N. Dolores Rd., is offering table rentals for their upcoming 17th Annual Christmas Bazaar, to be held on Sunday, Dec. 9. Tables are now available for rent at $25 each; we will provide the table. The deadline to reserve a table is Nov. 20. The Bazaar begins at 10 a.m. and goes until 5 p.m. Entertainment will be at 2 p.m. with the arrival of Santa at 3 p.m. He will visit with all the children who attend. There will be door prizes at least every hour, and food will be available for purchase. For more information call Sally at 739-0616.





Band to play at Santa breakfast



The Four Corners Community Band will play three Christmas concerts in early December: Kiwanis Breakfast with Santa, Saturday, Dec. 8, 9-10 a.m., Montezuma County Annex, 103 N. Healthy Gift Giving II: Healthy Foods and Herbs



Tired of shopping? No extra cash? Paula Parks, LMT, Amy Loschert, ND and Janneli F. Miller, PhD will give a free educational talk on easy to make healthy foods and herbal items that are good gifts for the holidays. Come learn how to make these cost effective and healthy foods and herbal products that will contribute to a happy healthy holiday season. ‘Adventures in a Blue World’ showing at the Sideshow



Sideshow presents “Adventures in a Blue World,” a science cartoon show for all ages by Cathrine Fox, local educator and NOAA Teacher at Sea. The show will be up through December. Sideshow is at 411 Central in Dolores, call 970-739-4646 for more details.





Are you ready to invest in your future?



A workshop being planned for early December at the Dolores Public Library will help you get started. Topics to be covered in the five-week, 10 hour course include identifying income and expenses; tracking spending; credit, debt and insurance issues; creating a spending plan, and investment options.

All workshop materials will be provided free to each registered participants, and snacks will be served at each session.

Toy Drive is underway



The fifth annual Dolores Toy Drive is underway and collecting new, unwrapped toys for children ages 1 to 12 years. Please drop off the toys at the following locations, during business hours from Nov. 23 to Dec. 14 at the Riverside Convenience Store, Dolores State Bank and the Ponderosa Restaurant. If your family needs help, or you know of a family that needs help with Christmas toys, please call Laurie at 759-3601 or Debbie at 882-2446. Please leave a message. This program is endorsed by the Dolores Christian Child Care, Dolores Chamber of Commerce, Laurie McGuire independent Party Lite Consultant, Bee’s In A Bonnett, Lori Shearer independent Mary Kay Consultant. All Dolores families are provided for first, and then we expand out to other areas if we have toys left. Toy distribution will be Saturday, Dec. 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Dolores Fire House.





Winter Discovery Walk is Dec. 15



Join San Juan Mountains Association on Saturday, Dec. 15 from 10 a.m. to noon for the second program in the Southwest Colorado Winter Ecology Series: a Winter Discovery Walk for Families at Boggy Draw, near Dolores. We will focus on using our senses during this walk – how does winter look, smell, sound, feel, and even taste different from other seasons, and why? For ages 4 – 10, accompanied by an adult. Snowshoes are provided if needed. There is no charge for the Discovery Walks.
