The La Plata County CSU Extension Office will sponsor ServSafe food safety training in September that was developed by the National Restaurant Association.

The two-day classes will be Sept. 18 and 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sept. 25 and 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Participants who complete the test with a score of 75 percent or higher will receive a ServSafe certificate valid for five years.

The classes will be held at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave., in Durango.

Cost is $120 per person, and participants will receive a course textbook and final exam. For each business associate from the same site and employer, the cost is $80, with a shared book. The online final exam is an additional $37, using your laptop.

For more information, call Wendy Rice at 970-382-6461 or preregister in person at the Extension Office. Preregistration and payment are due five business days in advance.
