Mesa Verde Country Director Kelly Kirkpatrick has been accepted into the 2019 class for the Colorado Tourism Leadership Journey, a training program sponsored by the Colorado Tourism Office.

Participants in the yearlong training program are selected by an 18-member advisory group chaired by Lt. Gov. Donna Lynne. It is run by Keystone Policy Center, a public policy group with offices in Keystone, Denver and Washington, D.C. The curriculum includes facilitated sessions, required readings, one-on-one mentoring and action/experiential learning opportunities.

Kirkpatrick and 21 other members of the group will begin their training at the Colorado Governor’s Tourism Conference Oct. 29-31 in Vail.

“It is an incredible opportunity to share my knowledge and learn from other tourism leaders across the state, and I look forward to incorporating what I learn into my role at Mesa Verde Country – it’s a win-win!” Kirkpatrick said in a press release.

The Cortez native has been the director of Mesa Verde Country since January 2015. Under her leadership, Mesa Verde Country promoted the popular Mesa Verde Farm and Ranch Tours.
