The Town of Dolores has received 45 applications for the position of deputy marshal it was disclosed at the regular monthly meeting Tuesday night of this week. Nine of the applicants were on hand for interviews and the rest will be here on Jan. 16 for interviews. Applicants came from as far away as West Virginia, Illinois and Kansas.

The first large snowstorm of the new year has moved into the area and is adding to the snow already on the ground from previous December storms. Roads in the area are snow packed and slick with Highway 666 between Dove Creek and Monticello closed for everything except emergency traffic.

Mr. and Mrs. L. Dick Nielson of Cortez, Colorado observed their silver anniversary on Dec. 25.

Danny Willbanks left on Saturday to return to Oregon.

Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Lee spent the Christmas holidays with their daughter and family in Denver, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Butler and family. They returned home on Sunday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Mark Nielson and two children from Provo,Utah arrived on Friday, Dec. 22 to spend the holiday with Mark's parents Mr. and Mrs. Art Nielson. They left for their home in Provo on Monday, Jan. 1.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Sagrillo from Denver visited with Mr. and Mrs. L. V. Hill on Thursday afternoon.

Dr. and Mrs. Robert Carlson and son enjoyed skiing at Stoner on Tuesday, Jan. 1.

Joye Raye Goode is here from her job in Denver and Kenny Goode is here on leave from his Army Base in New Jersey to visit at the home of their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Goode. Joye will be here until the 8th but Kenny has to leave today, the 5th.

Loava Bartholomew and Maxine and Leo spent the Christmas holidays in Yampa, Colo., visiting with relatives and friends. Loava's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Smith and her father-in-law, Mr. Lathan Bartholomew brought them home on Thursday, Dec. 28 and stayed over until Sunday Dec. 30 to visit.

Dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. V. Hill on Thursday, Dec. 28 were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Cowan from Cortez, Elbert and Vivian Cowan from Crystal Springs, Missouri and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Willbanks from Dolores.

Lenore Goode entered the hospital on Wednesday morning and underwent surgery on Thursday.

Carol Majors and sons, Chris and Rod enjoyed skiing at Stoner on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Sanders arrived on Friday, Dec. 29 from Blanding to attend the funeral services of their grandmother, Mrs. Lulu Green.

Mr. and Mrs. Bert Roberts and son, Tommy, Mrs. Keeler and Betty Harrah spent a week in Las Vegas, Nevada enjoying the sites and sunshine. They left on Tuesday, Dec. 26 and returned home on Monday, Jan. 1.
