The Montezuma County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5231 Auxiliary recently donated $450 toward the Cortez Elks Lodge’s food pantry, which assists veterans in need. The veterans pantry provides free backpacks of non-perishable food items to local veterans. The program has been going for five years, and the Dolores Food Market offers discounted prices to stock the pantry.
