Learn about Opportunity ZonesA presentation on Opportunity Zones, a federal program to encourage investment in distressed areas, will be offered on Nov. 7 at the Durango Public Library from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The presentation will explain how Opportunity Zones and Opportunity Funds work through capital gains tax deferrals, deductions and exclusions. Learn what businesses and projects might be eligible and the impacts to a community as well as where the six Opportunity Zones in Southwest Colorado are located.

Osteopathic physician receives certificationThe Institute for Functional Medicine announced this week that Kelly Busby, an osteopathic physician, graduated in May from the 2018 class of IFM certified practitioners.
Busby trained in the Functional Medicine model to identify and treat the root causes of chronic disease. She completed seven training seminars and passed stringent written and case study evaluations.
Busby practices osteopathic manipulative medicine and functional medicine in Cortez. She obtained a Doctor of Osteopathy at Midwestern University – Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003. She is the practice owner and physician at Bee Healthy Osteopathic Care, PLLC, at 102 E. North St., inside Heart Path House in Cortez.
