The Dolores School Board of Education meeting on Tuesday is going to be a busy one.
For one, football parents, who believe the coach will not have his contract renewed next year, will be in attendance and it has been over a month since the board meet for a regular meeting.
On the agenda will be a presentation by Linda Barker, Director of Teaching and Learning for the Colorado Education Association, who will discuss educator effectiveness and Senate Bill 191.
"She has delivered this presentation at several board meetings across the State and is revered as one of the best presenters of this legislation and more importantly how the Educator Effectiveness work we are piloting in our district will help us grow together to provide the best education for all students everyday," wrote Superintendent Scott Cooper.
In addition, Christopher Chalberg from the Communications Department of the US Department of Justice will present a nation-wide curriculum designed for schools to support students and staff with the teaching of tolerance and the acceptance of diversity.
Cooper indicated that Chalberg will also work with high school staff and students on campus next week.
There will also be presentations on the Community School Gardens and Operation Graduation.
The board is expected to meet at 7 p.m. in the professional development room behind the district office, 100 N. 6th St.
The board met at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 10 for a short meeting, which included a closed session expulsion hearing. In the end, the expulsion was recommended and approved.
There was an approval of Jim Ketter as Owner's Representative and the personnel approval of: Elementary Special Ed Para: Leigh Nottingham and MS/HS Sped/RtI Para: Kaari Milligin.
