"Mona" is hard to resist once she levels that come-hither look your way. It is rare to find an orange cat that isn't a boy, and this marmalade-colored little gal is a find indeed. A spayed female, Mona was transported here from an Albuquerque animal shelter in hopes of improving her chances of finding her perfect human. She is about a year old, has already been microchipped and has had her vaccinations. In addition to her beautiful orange color and amber eyes, she possesses a great personality - she is gentle, sweet and affectionate. Mona loves to play but also knows a good lap when she sees one. The shelter also has some other cats very eager for a chance to be loved, including a gorgeous tawny colored tabby-tortoiseshell and a very playful and energetic black female, plus several dogs, including two small breeds; all share a quest for a forever home. The shelter is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on alternate Fridays; they will be open this Friday. The fee for adoption includes spaying or neutering, and vaccination. The shelter can always use non-clumping cat litter and cleaning supplies such as paper towels, dish soap and unscented bleach. For more information, call the shelter at 565-4910.
