Wednesday, Nov. 14

8:09 a.m.: A deputy killed an injured deer on the 20000 block of County Road W and left it in a ditch.

8:44 a.m.: Two vehicles collided in a parking lot on the 700 block of Railroad Ave. in Dolores. No injuries were reported.

1:26 p.m.: A woman reported that her mailbox was knocked down on the 17000 block of County Road 27.9. There were no suspects. Damage was put at $200.

1:48 p.m.: A man reported that a rock was thrown through the kitchen window at 1121 Central Ave. in Dolores. He said he suspected students, but deputies had no suspects.

8:32 p.m.: A man driving a silver Infinity with a non-functioning headlight was pulled over on the 7000 block of County Road G and arrested on a warrant from El Paso County and for driving with a canceled license.

Thursday, Nov. 15

11:43 a.m.: A woman was arrested in the 6000 block of County Road 24 for violating a restraining order. She was speaking to a man that she was only allowed to communicate with via electronic or written means.

12:46 p.m.: A woman who attempted to use a counterfeit $50 bill at the Ute Mountain Casino, 3 Weeminuche Drive, was arrested on an active warrant. While searching the woman, a deputy found 1.36 grams of meth. She reportedly whispered to the deputy, “Please hide that from everyone else.” She was cited for unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

4:09 p.m.: A woman was remanded from the holding area of Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., and taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

11:55 p.m.: A man was arrested on two warrants at a home on the 12000 block of County Road EE. He was lying in bed with his wife when deputies and Colorado State Patrol trooper took him into custody. Several officers were needed as the man was known to be armed.

Friday, Nov. 16

1:13 a.m.: A house was fully engulfed in flames on the 7000 block of County Road 25. A woman re-entered the home to save a cat and dog. She was flown to UCHealth Burn Clinic in Denver, where she was pronounced dead. The golden retriever exited the home. It was unknown if the cat lived.

4:45 a.m.: A woman rolled a Mazda 3 several times on the 30000 block of U.S. Highway 160. The vehicle reportedly flew over several large trees, and the engine left the vehicle upon impact. The injured woman dragged herself to the nearby police academy building and used a rock to break a glass door. She then pulled the fire alarm to seek help. The Sheriff’s Office did not file charges for the broken glass, but the crash investigation was turned over to the Colorado State Patrol. Alcohol use was suspected.

1:20 p.m.: Deputies who responded to a possible overdose suspect that the victim suffered an anxiety attack caused by marijuana. The address was redacted from the report.

7:35 p.m.: Deputies contacted a woman walking along the 7000 block of County Road 21. She was crying uncontrollably and said she got in a fight with her boyfriend. The man reportedly saw the emergency lights and fled into a canyon. The man has criminal history including assault, theft, burglary and impersonating an officer and had a warrant from Idaho. He was charged with false imprisonment, harassment, domestic violence and obstructing a police officer.

Saturday, Nov. 17

12:50 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant in the 18000 block of Colorado Highway 145.

Sunday, Nov. 18

2:14 a.m.: A man driving a Pontiac Grand Am was arrested for DUI upon leaving Angel’s End Zone Sports Bar, 300 W. Montezuma Ave. A Cortez Taxi driver informed law enforcement of the drunken driver.

8:38 p.m.: A man was arrested for violating a restraining order and punching his brother in the face on the 200 block of S. Seventh St. in Dolores.

10:47 p.m.: No arrests were made after a mutual combat incident on the 100 block of E. Sunset Drive in Mancos. Two women were fighting, and deputies determined from witnesses that they both started the fight. One woman requested that the district attorney review the case.

9:16 a.m.: A deputy killed an injured deer in the 30000 block of U.S. Highway 160 and left it in a ditch for removal by the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Monday, Nov. 19

10:52 a.m.: A male inmate at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served a warrant.

11:33 a.m.: A man reported an assault on the 20000 block of County Road S but did not want to press charges. He said he went to a man’s home to serve divorce papers, and the man opened the door of his vehicle and tried to pull him out. He said he wanted the incident documented.

12:26 p.m.: A man reported vandalism to a tire on his Toyota Tacoma on the 30000 block of County Road J.7. The tire was flat, and Durango Motor Co. provided documentation showing that it appeared to be an intentional act. The cost to repair the tire was $275. There were no suspects.

4:39 p.m.: A man was remanded from the holding area of Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., and taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

5:07 p.m.: A woman was remanded from Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., and taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

6:59 p.m.: A man who said he snorted cocaine was hallucinating traps all around him, bombs attached to himself and missiles under his feet at the Baymont by Wyndham Cortez, 2279 Hawkins St. A deputy obtained a small bag containing a crystal-like substance and a straw from his pocket. He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
