Forest White, superintendent of the Rio Grande Southern railway system, was an arrival in Dolores yesterday, here for a short stay.

Mrs. T. H. Akin left Thursday morning for California. Mr. Akin took her to Gallup in their car and there she remained for the remainder of the trip. Mrs. Akin will spend a month or so in California and then drive home with her daughter, Greta, in the latter's car.

Mr. and Mrs. Art Brumley went over on Disappointment to look after camp affairs this week.

Mr. and Mrs. Luther Plumlee and Gale made a trip to Grand Junction over the week end, visiting with Mrs. Frank Avrill. They returned home on Tuesday and report the bank holiday pressing people in bigger towns more severely than in Dolores

Developments came thick and fast the latter part of last week in regard to the banking situation over the entire United States. Friday morning all banks in Colorado were ordered closed for a four day holiday until- subsequently came an order in the form of a proclamation from President Franklin D. Roosevelt ordering cessation of all banking business in the United States until Friday morning.

An urgent appeal to the general assembly to " get down to business," passed necessary legislation and adjourn was made by governor Johnson in a special message. The governor stressed the necessity of passing measures which would serve to cut governmental expenses and reminded the legislators that they had been elected on a platform promising tax relief and simplification of government. The governor recommended the passage of three specific measures which he said would give substantial relief.
