Southwest Softball registration day



Southwest Softball will be having a registration day at Hibbett Sports on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. All late fees will be waived if forms are brought in on that day. For further information, please contact Scott Tullis at 570-5270.





Hunters Education course



Colorado Parks and Wildlife is holding a Hunters Education course this weekend at the Montezuma County Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. It's for people 10-Older and it's $10 per person. There is no preregistration. Those wanting to hunt or trap in Colorado born on or after Jan. 1, 1949 must complete this course. Ute Mtn. Rec. women's basketball tourney



The Ute Mountain Recreation Center in Towaoc is hosting the "Bad Girl" women's basketball tournament on this weekend. It's a 16-team, 9-women roster double-elimination tourney. Entry fee is $150. Little League registration still open, umpires needed



Little League baseball will be taking registrations with a $30 late fee until Wednesday, March 27. After that, registrations will be placed on a wait list and will be assigned to teams as space is available. Baseball is open from children aged 4-15 as of April 30. Cost varies according to age from $55 to $105 plus the late fee. Registration forms can be downloaded from eteamz.com/cortezbaseball or picked up at the Super Saturday events. Umpires are also needed for upcoming games. Umpires are paid and training is offered. Horseshoe league meeting



Anyone interested in pitching horseshoes in a league is invited to attend an information meeting. The meeting will be held on Thursday, March 28, at 7 p.m. at the American Legion, located at 320 N. Harrison St. in Cortez. The league starts in late May and ends in mid to late August on Thursday nights at the American Legion. Ute Mtn. Rec. spring basketball league



The Ute Mountain Recreation Center in Towaoc is hosting its men's and women's open spring basketball league. Entry fee is $250. It's an eight-game guarantee plus a tournament. It's a 10-player roster and league play starts Tuesday, April 9. Games are played on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. For more information, please call 564-5360 and ask for Jonathan.





Cortez Rec. men's 40-Older basketball league



The City of Cortez Parks and Recreation department is now registering for its men's 5-on-5 40-Older basketball league to begin Thursday, April 11. Cortez Rec. men's and women's volleyball



The City of Cortez Parks and Recreation department is now registering for its men's and women's 3-on-3 volleyball league to begin Monday, April 15, for women and Tuesday, April 16, for men. Ute Mtn. Rec. high school basketball tourney



The Ute Mountain Recreation Center in Towaoc is hosting its high school boys and girls basketball tournament the weekend of April 20-21. It's double-elimination with awards for first through third-place. Entry fee is $125. It's 12 teams in each division. This tourney fills up fast and teams must have a coach on the bench at all times. Tri-City Soccer registrations



Tri-City Soccer is currently accepting registrations for spring soccer. Spring soccer will run from April 8, through May 4, for most teams. There will be teams for children 3 through 13 (based on their age as of July 31, 2012). Placement is based on first come, first served space availability. If a child played soccer in the fall of 2012, then parents do not need to re-register their child. Registrations can be picked up at the Cortez Recreation Center.
