Slick road conditions from a snowstorm contributed to two crashes Monday morning, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

About 8 a.m., a truck on U.S. Highway 160 near the Mesa Verde National Park entrance went off the road and rolled. Whether a ticket was issued was not available.

Later in the morning, a woman crashed her vehicle in the 24000 block of County Road G, said Colorado State Trooper James Proctor.

The woman went off the road, rolled a quarter turn and hit a fence. She was cited for careless driving. There were no injuries in either accident, and both drivers wore seat belts, he said.

“Drivers should remember that when roads are icy and snow, going the posted speed limit is too fast for conditions,” Proctor said.
