Costumes make the annual Dolores Chamber Spring Banquet entertaining.
The 2018 theme was science fiction.
Susan Lisak wore a convincing warrior alien costume at last year’s ball.

Bust up the snow-shoveling winter blues at the Dolores Chamber Annual Spring Banquet and Community Celebration Awards Ceremony March 30.

The locals’ favorite costume party is held at the Dolores Community Center, and the theme this year is “Shamrocked, a Leprechaun’s Ball.”

It kicks off at 6 p.m. with cocktail hour featuring loud toasts, door prizes, photo ops and a silent auction.

At 7 p.m., a catered dinner is served, then at 7:45 p.m. a professional auctioneer starts the bidding on auction items. Proceeds go into a scholarship fund for local students.

The celebration then kicks up a notch with the announcement of Business and Citizen of the Year Awards for 2018.

“Join us in honoring the folks who hold Dolores in their hearts,” said Dolores Chamber director Rocky Moss.

Costumes are encouraged but not mandatory. Take a look at the fun you will have if you do dress up at bit.ly/Paddycostume

Tickets are $30 or $50 for a couple. Go to the Dolores Chamber website to purchase tickets and to donate to the silent auction.
