2:38 p.m.: A woman reported to the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office, 730 E. Driscoll St., that she was victim of identify theft. Her bank informed her that her personal information was compromised. She obtained a police report as requested by the Colorado Department of Revenue.
Tuesday, March 12
11:12 a.m.: The driver of a commercial box truck was cited for failing to drive in a single lane after crashing into a telephone poll on the 1400 block of Colorado Highway 145. He told law enforcement that a vehicle pulling a camper pulled out in front of him, causing him to slam on his brakes, but officers did not find evidence of braking. When asked how long he worked for the company, he said he was on his first day off probation.
1:10 p.m.: A woman driving a green Subaru was cited for driving with a canceled license, without insurance or registration and for speeding 10-19 mph over the limit on the 1200 block of Railroad Ave. in Dolores.
Wednesday, March 13
12:42 a.m.: A vehicle involved in an accident on the 5000 block of County Road G continued driving after a deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop. A patrol sergeant advised the deputy to discontinue following the vehicle because it was not stopping.
9:40 a.m.: A woman at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was arrested on three failure to appear warrants.
2:57 p.m.: A man at Cortez Cash and Pawn, at 24099 County Road G.2, was arrested on two failure to appear warrants.
Friday, March 15
3:46 p.m.: A man driving a Chevrolet van bearing license plates registered to a Buick LeSabre was arrested for driving on a revoked license on the 800 block of N. Park St.
5:13 p.m.: A man driving a car with an illegally tinted license plate was released on a warning, on the 6000 block of U.S. Highway 160, but a passenger was arrested on a failure to comply warrant and for violating a protection order that restrained him from a female passenger in the vehicle.
6:53 p.m.: A woman reported that a neighbor’s dog bit her ankle on the 26000 block of U.S. Highway 160. A deputy did not see any scuffs on her skin or ankle consistent with a dog bite. The deputy contacted the neighbor and found three dogs in a fenced in yard, but the owner said the dogs are often walked off leash. The largest dog was no bigger than a football, the deputy reported. The dog owner was cited for dog not under control.
Saturday, March 16
8:19 a.m.: A woman reported that she was being attacked by her daughter and wanted her out of the house on the 23000 block of County Road G. The daughter was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.
3:02 p.m.: A red Dodge pickup was stopped on suspicion of being involved in a hit-and-run on the 17000 block of County Road G. The investigation was turned over the Colorado State Patrol.
Sunday, March 17
9:29 a.m.: A woman was cited for dog not under control on the 17000 block of County Road 27.7 after a man reported that dogs came off the property in an aggressive manner. He had reported similar problems in the past but the issue had not been resolved. A deputy observed three dogs escape a fenced in area on their own.
7:16 p.m.: A man driving a silver sedan on the 7000 block of U.S. Highway 160 was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.
Tuesday, March 19
8:35 a.m.: A woman reported an injured deer on the 14000 block of County Road 26. A deputy put the deer down with a single round. The animal was loaded into a patrol vehicle and was sent off to the Division of Wildlife to be tested.
