Tuesday, March 26

11:44 a.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of speeding and driving with a revoked license in the 700 block of Canyon Drive.

3:40 p.m.: A man was arrested on two warrants while trying to purchase firearms at Slavens True Value Hardware, 237 W. Main St.

4:18 p.m.: An intoxicated pedestrian in the 1100 block of E. Main St. was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.

4:43 p.m.: A woman was arrested for trespassing after she allegedly disturbed a dog tied outside the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St.

4:57 p.m.: A man was arrested outside City Market, 508 E. Main St., on three warrants and for violating bond and protection orders barring him from consuming alcohol.

5:09 p.m.: A male inmate at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served a warrant.

4:53 p.m.: A man using Facebook on a computer at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St., was trespassed for being unruly. He told the officer he wanted to go to jail for a meal.

7:07 p.m.: The driver of a Chrysler van was cited for driving without a license and for making an unsafe lane change after he allegedly pulled out of a parking space in the 300 block of E. Main St. and sideswiped a westbound Jeep. The officer planned to change the traffic charge to failing to yield when entering a highway.

Wednesday, March 27

10:55 a.m.: A man was cited for trespass after he left a restroom at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St.

12:14 p.m.: A man at 11 N. Broadway reported that a truck that he had loaned overnight to another man was dropped off more than a week later with $4,077.32 in damage. The man who borrowed the truck said a trailer jackknifed on slippery road while he was moving his belongings to another home.

6:44 p.m.: A man was cited for trespassing at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

Thursday, March 28

3:47 p.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant in the 200 block of S. Chestnut St.

5:19 p.m.: A woman was arrested on two warrants in the 700 block of E. Main St.

7:23 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant in the 200 block of W. Montezuma Ave.

Friday, March 29

4:25 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 1000 block of N. Dolores Road on suspicion of driving with a restrained license, driving with expired license plates, and speeding. He was given a roadside DUI test but was not charged.

4:08 p.m.: A man driving a Chevy Silverado with New Mexico license plates was arrested in the 6800 block of U.S. Highway 160 on a warrant from Mineral County, Colorado.

3:15 p.m.: A man who reportedly was lying face-down outside the National 9 motel, 301 W. Main St., was taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital after he reported that he was suicidal. He then was jailed on a Cortez warrant.

6:46 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace in the 10 block of N. Madison St. after he yelled at barking dogs and at a neighbor to stepped outside a house to see what was happening. He also was charged with mistreating a K9 officer while he was being taken to jail.

Saturday, March 30

12:20 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant in the 300 block of S. Broadway.

Sunday, March 31

2:48 p.m.: A man was arrested for violating a protection order that barred him from consuming alcohol after he stepped outside his home, in the 900 block of Lindsey Drive, and allegedly asked an officer whether he wanted to fight.

Thursday, April 2

4:24 p.m.: A man and woman were cited in Centennial Park, 515 N. Mildred Road, for consuming and possessing alcohol in the park. The woman was arrested on two warrants and for violating an alcohol-related protection order.
