Free fishing, wildlife educational games, nature walks and bird watching are all in store for visitors to Mancos State Park this weekend.

It’s free fishing weekend in Colorado and kids and adults can learn some fishing skills at the park from 1-3 p.m. Saturday. Kids will be taught the basics while adults will learn the finer points of fly casting.

Then from 5-6 p.m. join the park naturalist to learn about wildlife in a game suited for all ages.

On Sunday from 7:30 to 9 a.m. go for a walk in the early morning and look for birds that currently reside in the park. Bring binoculars and find out why birding is becoming more and more popular.

Then from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. a nature walk through the park will introduce visitors to wildflowers, insects, plants and wildlife. Again, bring your own binoculars.

The park events are free, but visitors must have a park pass. Daily admission is $7. An annual pass for all state parks is just $70.
