Southwest Colorado Canyons Alliance has received grants from the Conservation Lands Foundation and the Walmart Foundation.

The Conservation Lands Foundation provides financial resources to support organizations working to protect, restore and expand National Conservation Lands. The grant from CLF will be used to support SCCA’s ongoing Wilderness Study Area Monitoring Program. Funds from the grant also will be used for outreach on behalf of public lands, and for fundraising assistance.

The Walmart Community Grant awarded to SCCA will be used to enhance the quality of life in Montezuma County and to stimulate the local economy by offering unique opportunities to residents and tourists to experience the natural and cultural landscape in the Canyons of the Ancients National Monument and view the artifacts preserved at the Canyons of the Ancients Museum and Visitor Center.

Southwest Colorado Canyons Alliance works with Bureau of Land Management to engage the public through education, outreach, and stewardship for the use and enjoyment of the natural and cultural landscape of Canyons of the Ancients National Monument and nearby public lands.
