Players are needed to play pick-up goaltimate games held every Thursday at Joe Rowell Park in Dolores.

Games start at 6 p.m. and last until dusk. Beginners are welcome.

The frisbee game is a fast paced “half-court” sport where two teams of three players or more pass the frisbee and try to connect with a teammate in the goal zone located under a hoop.

Turnovers result when a disc is dropped, intercepted, goes out of bounds, or when the thrower is stalled (the thrower has five seconds to throw, the duration of which is enforced by opponents’ stall count).

After any turnover or score, the disc must be passed beyond the clear line before the next point may be scored. Play is continuous, with no pause after scores or clears. Games are played to 5, with a ‘Best of 3’ or ‘Best of 5’ games in a match.

Non-metal cleats are recommended for traction. The games are casual, with flourishes of intense competition.
