Mancos to hold Open Studio Tour next week

Art lovers of all sorts are invited to take a stroll in downtown Mancos for a self-guided studio tour.

This is the fifth Mancos Artist Open Studio Tour, and it will take place all-day Sept. 21, featuring work from over a dozen local artists. The tour is sponsored by the Mancos Creative District and supported by the Mancos Valley Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to checking out the artwork, tour-goers will get an inside look at the artists’ spaces and be able to chat with artists about their creative process.

The artwork on display will feature a wide range of media, including blacksmithing, sculpture, pastels, printing, painting, encaustics, photography and mixed media.

Studio tour maps will be available starting Sept. 14 at the downtown galleries or at the Mancos Valley Chamber of Commerce, 101 E. Bauer Ave. The actual event on Sept. 21 will happen from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Artists participating in the tour include: Samantha Combs, Peggy Cloy, Chris Cook, Patsy Davis, Deborah Doty, Sherri and Tenacia Downey, Herb Folsom, Brad Goodell, Veryl Goodnight, Amy Grogan, Janette Harrell, Carol Mehesy, Nate Osgood, Rebecca Syndergaard, Dana Timmons, Steve Williams, Merritt Winkler and Jan Wright.
