Thursday, Oct. 17

7:40 p.m. An officer observed a GMC pickup in the 700 block of Main Street with an expired Colorado registration. The driver had two active warrants. He was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

10:05 p.m. An officer in the 800 block of S. Broadway saw a white Toyota almost hit a curb. The vehicle was also weaving. The officer stopped the car and gave the driver a breath-analysis test, which showed a blood-alcohol content of 0.115. After a 20-minute observation period, the man gave a breath analysis sample of 0.079. He was issued a summons for driving while ability impaired, driving without a driver’s license and weaving.

10:14 p.m. An officer was called to the City Pool, 744 E. Main St. about a disturbance. A man was discovered to have an active warrant and was medically cleared and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

Friday, Oct. 18

9:43 a.m. An officer filed a report about a minor traffic accident in the 500 block of E. Main St.

1:32 p.m. An officer saw a woman in the 800 block of E. Montezuma Avenue who had two active warrants. She was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

3:32 p.m. An officer was called to Walmart about a man sleeping in a restroom. The man had an open bottle of Taaka vodka in his coat. The man was arrested on an active warrant. He also was issued a summons for trespassing and disturbing the peace. He was left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

5:05 p.m. An officer stopped a car after it switched lanes without out signaling in the 400 block of W. Main Street. The driver had three active warrants. He was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

11:59 p.m. An officer saw a man in the Walmart parking lot who had a trespass notice barring him from the property. The man was cited for trespassing.

Saturday, Oct. 19

10:50 a.m. An officer was dispatched to the 1400 block of E. Main Street on a report of criminal mischief. A business owner showed the officer damage to an aluminum frame for glass doors estimated at $500. The officer filed a report.

11:28 a.m. An officer was called to the 500 block of South Market Street about a dog at large. A man at the scene was discovered to have an active warrant. He was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

9:37 p.m. An officer was called to the 600 block of Chestnut Street about a barking dog. A man was cited for owning an animal that was disturbing the peace.

10:12 p.m. An officer was called to the 500 block of East Third Street to serve an active warrant to a woman. The woman was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

11:06 p.m. An officer stopped a small red sedan in the 700 block of Canyon Drive that appeared to be speeding. The man’s driver’s license was suspended because of excessive points, and he provided an expired insurance card. A woman was called to pick up the man because he could not drive. When the woman arrived, officers got in an argument with the man after he objected to their request that the woman provide her name and proof of a valid driver’s license. A physical altercation broke out between the two officers and the man. The woman pulled on one of the officer’s vest during the scuffle, and the man freed himself and fled. The woman was determined to have a restrained license and was arrested for driving with a restrained license and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center. The man who fled was not found.

11:52 p.m. An officer was called to Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., about a shoplifting. A woman was cited for shoplifting after altering a price tag and paying $1 for a pair of children’s pants that actually cost $9.97.

Monday, Oct. 21

11:58 a.m. An officer was dispatched to the 300 block of W. Main Street about a collision: A mirror on a Ford pickup suffered damage when a camper hit it.

2:53 p.m. An officer was called to Shooter’s World after a man with an active warrant attempted to purchase a firearm. The man was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

Tuesday, Oct. 22

6:13 a.m. An officer was called to the 1000 block of Bluffs Boulevard about a report of a suspicious person. A woman who appeared to be intoxicated was arrested for violating a protection order. She was issued a breath-analysis test that showed a blood-alcohol content of 0.275. The woman was left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

9:26 a.m. An officer was dispatched to the 200 block of W. McArthur Avenue about a man standing in the road obstructing traffic. The man was arrested for public intoxication after a breath analysis showed a blood-alcohol content of 0.381. He was left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

9:48 a.m. An officer took a report in the lobby of the Police Department, 516 South Madison St., about a stolen bicycle.

2:59 p.m. An officer was called to the 700 block of S. Broadway about a hit-and-run incident. The officer took a report about a red Ford pickup that hit a vehicle and knocked its mirror off. The vehicle was possibly involved in a collision at South Broadway and Seventh Street. The suspected vehicle eventually caused a head-on collision in the 2000 block of U.S. Highway 160. The driver was found at Southwest Memorial Hospital and cited for a hit-and-run causing damage.

6:41 p.m. An officer arrested a man who turned himself in at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. He was left in custody of the jail.
