M-CHS grad made chief petty officer

Anthony George Siebert, a graduate of Montezuma-Cortez High School, was joined by his family when he was pinned as a chief petty officer Sept. 13, 2013, at COMNAVPERS in Millington, Tenn.

Anthony George Siebert graduated from Montezuma-Cortez High School in 2000, he went on to attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and he joined the Navy in 2005. After boot camp, he completed the Nuclear Power Training Pipeline and became a Nuclear Electronics Technician. His first boat was the deep submersible submarine NR-1; he embarked on her final voyage.

After her deactivation in 2008 and subsequent defueling in 2009 he joined the crew to build the newest submarine in the Navy, the fast attack Virginia Class submarine USS Mississippi. In June 2013, Anthony transferred to his current command COMNAVPERS in Millington, Tenn. Shortly after arriving he was selected for chief petty officer and was pinned Sept. 13, 2013.

In attendance were his wife, Natalia Siebert; his three sons Caelan, Darin and Rowan.

Also attending the ceremony were Anthony’s father Eric Siebert of Burgaw, N.C., and his mother Davidea Siebert of Cortez.
