Ballantine Family Fund awards $310,000 in grants in Southwest Colorado

In 2019, the Trustees of the Ballantine Family Fund awarded $245,623 in grants to 121 nonprofit organizations in Southwest Colorado. The average grant size was $2,030.

By sector, the Ballantine Family Fund awarded: $3,000 to animal protection (1% of total grants); $64,000 to arts and culture (26% of total grants); $53,623 to education (22% of total grants); $21,500 to environment (9% of total grants); $71,500 to human services (29% of total grants); $22,000 to youths (9% of total grants); and $10,000 to other (4% of total grants).

By county, the Ballantine Family Fund awarded: $10,500 to Archuleta (4% of total grants); $5,500 to Dolores (2% of total grants); $137,623 to La Plata (56% of total grants); $64,000 to Montezuma (26% of total grants); $12,000 to San Juan (5% of total grants); and $16,000 to other counties that support Southwest Colorado, but are not physically located in our geographic region (7% of total grants)

In addition, the Ballantine Family Trustees awarded an unsolicited $65,000 in Core Value Grants to seven nonprofits in La Plata and Montezuma counties.

The traditional Ballantine Grants and Core Value Grants combine to exceed a $310,000 investment in nonprofits in the region.
