The Montezuma-Cortez High School baseball team opened its season at the Bloomfield (N.M.) High School three-game tournament and went 1-2.
The Panthers opened with a 12-3 win over New Mexicos Kirtland Central on Friday. On Saturday, M-CHS lost 9-7 to host Bloomfield and lost 11-6 to Montrose.
The Dolores Bears baseball team opened the season 1-0 with a 5-inning, mercy rule 15-3 road win over the Piedra Vista (N.M.) junior varsity team on Saturday.
