A pickup truck drifted across traffic on U.S. Highway 160 on Saturday as the driver suffered from a medical episode, possibly a seizure. The truck stopped after crashing into a tree in front of the Colorado State Patrol office in Durango.
The 50-year-old driver was conscious when Durango police officers arrived on the scene, though he was “dazed and groggy,” said Sgt. Nick Stasi.
Stasi said the driver most likely lost control of the vehicle because he was “not real alert and confused.”
The driver was then taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center. He had no injuries from the crash itself and there was only minor damage to the vehicle.
