What a thrill it was to see a Mancos High School sophomore Rudy Archuleta competing in the Colorado State High School wresting tournament.
Becoming the first Mancos wrestler in several years to compete in the most prestigious wresting event, Archuleta competed hard before being pinned by John Mall High School's Marshal Ross in the first round.
Even with the loss however, Archuleta can take pride in the fact that he represented his hometown and his school with class and dignity.
Archuleta will get another shot to pick up his first state tournament win on Feb. 22 when he faces off against Akron High School's Jacob Bauer (26-8).
