Years from now, memories of the 2014 Colorado State Wrestling Tournament will live on in the minds of local wrestlers and their legions of fans.

Many of those memories will involve Montezuma-Cortez High School junior Seager Oliver’s magical run to a state championship.

Also remembered will be the several gutsy performances turned in by Dove Creek High School junior Chance Randolph on his way to a second-place finish.

This season’s seniors, including Dove Creek High School’s Nick Jones and Dolores High School’s Ethen Upton and Deano Valdez, will be recalled for their leadership and dedication.

Finally, recollections of the performances put on by seven other local wrestlers will live on, forever carving themselves a place in local wrestling lore.

Ultimately, the 2014 wrestling season will be remembered as one of tremendous accomplishment during which local standards of excellence were redefined.
