Wednesday, June 24

2:51 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. An employee observed the man putting items in a backpack. He only paid for two or three of the 10 items in the bag.

4:13 p.m. A stolen vehicle was located in the 25100 block of County Road H. The driver of the vehicle had a revoked license and claimed she did not know the vehicle was stolen. A notebook with a list of VINs, a stolen temporary license plate and synthetic urine were found in the vehicle. The woman was released. The investigation is ongoing.

Friday, June 26

9:07 a.m. A man was remanded into custody at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St. He was transported to the jail.

5:17 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of felony sexual assault on a child in the 200 block of East Main Street.

7:04 p.m. A Colorado registration was reported stolen in the 17700 block of County Road 22. The exact location of the theft was unknown. The registration was entered into NCIC/CCIC.

9:51 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of trespassing in the 500 block of East Main Street. The man had been previously trespassed from the property.

Sunday, June 28

5:43 p.m. A man was charged with felony menacing, false imprisonment, false imprisonment of an at-risk person, child abuse, violating a protection order, obstructing a public servant by physical interference or threat of violence and using physical force against a peace officer affecting an arrest in the 900 block of Livesay Drive. A child reported the stepfather had a knife and was intoxicated and yelling at the children. Officers observed that the man appeared to be highly intoxicated and having delusions. The man was uncooperative and combative during his arrest. The knives were confiscated from the property.

Monday, June 29

3:23 p.m. Violation of a protection order was reported in the 600 block of East Empire Street. A woman’s ex-husband attempted to contact her at her workplace. A protection order prohibited him from being within 100 yards of her. Video surveillance captured the incident.

7:52 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of violating a protection order in the 1900 block of East Main Street. A man was throwing rocks at traffic and yelling at people. He admitted to being intoxicated, a violation of a protection order.

Tuesday, June 30

9:22 a.m. A man was cited on suspicion of trespassing in the 1500 block of South Broadway. The man had been previously trespassed from the property.

2:26 p.m. A man was arrested an placed on a felony hold for multiple charges in the 700 block of West Seventh Street. Someone reported a man passed out in a vehicle in a parking lot. Officers made contact and the man appeared to be under the influence of drugs. The man’s vehicle and person were searched. Items found included syringes, methamphetamine, a stolen handgun, ammunition, knives, blank check documents, burglary tools, a counterfeit $10 bill, two laptops and several backpacks. The vehicle was towed.

7:25 p.m. A man and woman were cited on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. An employee observed them “skip scanning” and their activity was captured on surveillance footage.

Wednesday, July 1

3: 15 p.m. A hit-an-run crash was reported in the 600 block of North Park Street. A vehicle was struck on the rear passenger side, causing minor damage. No video surveillance was available.

8:31 p.m. A woman was cited on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. The woman was observed taking a price tag off a cheaper cooler and put it on a more expensive cooler.

Thursday, July 2

2:17 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of theft and third-degree assault and was trespassed from the property in the 300 block of West Main Street. The man attempted to leave the gas station without paying for several items and was confronted by an employee. The suspect hit the employee and ran out of the store. The store owner followed the man and the suspect attempted to hit him, but the suspect was subdued by the owner.

Friday, July 3

6:18 p.m. A man and woman were arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order and theft at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. They were observed putting items into a Walmart bag in his cart. The man then claimed he had brought the items into the store in the bag in order to return them.

Saturday, July 4

12:04 a.m. An assault was reported in the 900 block of East Main Street. A woman’s boyfriend punched her in the face while she was driving. She pulled over and the boyfriend left the area. She had an active protection order against the boyfriend. A warrant was requested for third-degree assault and two counts of violating a protection order.

12:21 p.m. A man was cited for careless driving and driving without a valid license in the area of Seventh Street and Chestnut. The man rear ended a vehicle stopped at the intersection.

4:14 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, third-degree assault, violating a protection order, possession of an illegal weapon and was trespassed from the property, and a woman was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence in the 1200 block of East Main Street. Witnesses observed the couple in a physical altercation, and a discarded weapon was found nearby.

7:01 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se and driving on a revoked license in the 400 block of South Sligo Street. An officer initiated a traffic stop for speeding and observed the driver appeared to be intoxicated. He could not satisfactorily complete roadside maneuvers and a portable breath test reported a value over the legal limit.

8:28 p.m. A man was cited for shoplifting and issued a trespass notice at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. The man concealed health items and batteries when paying for other groceries and attempted to walk out of the store.

Sunday, July 5

7:05 p.m. A woman was cited for shoplifting and issued a trespass notice at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. The woman scanned packaging for cheaper items while placing more expensive items in her cart. The activity was witnessed and recorded on surveillance video.

Monday, July 6

11 a.m. Theft was reported at Rand L Storage, 530 N. State St. The lock was cut off a storage locker and over $3,300 worth of camping supplies and other items were missing. There were no suspects.

11:38 a.m. An officer served a warrant to a female inmate at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

12:56 p.m. A hit-an-run crash was reported in the 200 block of West Main St. The vehicle owner stated some dirt was rubber off the bumper and he believed it had been hit. There was no new damage observed where the dirt was rubbed off. One suspect was questioned, but there was no evidence of a collision.

4:12 p.m. Officers were dispatched to serve a warrant to a female inmate at Montezuma County Combined Court, 730 E. Driscoll St. During service, the woman left the holding cell and scratched one of the officers.
