Mayor Pro Tem Perry Lewis presented Eireland Fagan, Gray Stetcher and River Martucci with certificates of appreciation Wednesday night for helping residents load water into cars during the water crisis in February.

The Montezuma Valley Farm Hub presents four in-depth classes featuring local experts & experienced farmers & ranchers. The first class in this series, Opportunities in Sheep & Goat Production, takes place March 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Let It Grow in Cortez, 90 North Mildred Road. Four Corners Dancers invite you to our Four Corners Fling. We will be Round and Square Dancing on the 14th and 15th at the Cortez Middle School gym. Spectators can watch for free. They will dance to Caller, Greg Tillery from Albuquerque. Round dancers will be having Pat and Wanda McBride doing the cueing from Grand Junction. The Mancos Seed Library workshop: "The Abundance of Seeds: Basics of Seed Saving," 6-8pm at the Mt. Lookout Grange at 680 Grand Avenue in Mancos.

There will be a benefit Chili dinner and silent auction for Amy Martin, a mother of three fighting stage two breast cancer, to help with medical bills on March 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lewis Arriola Community Center. Cortez Cultural Center in collaboration with Conservation Colorado announces "What does wilderness mean to you?" Youth Poetry Contest. Submission deadline is March 31. "Let's Celebrate!" is the March theme of Raising Readers Storytime at the Cortez Public Library. Storytime is held every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. for preschool-aged children. Older children are welcome to join for the craft at 11:15 a.m. For more information, call 565-8117.

Every Thursday Night until March 20, The Cortez Family Worship Center Foursquare Church, 500 N. Washington, will be offering a free meal at 6 p.m. followed by an archaeological documentary at 7 p.m. Call 749-9774 for more information.

The Cortez Public Library will offer computer classes in March: On March 13 at 1 p.m., there will be a beginning computer class on searching the Internet. On March 14 at 1 p.m., staff from the Workforce Center will be holding a class on finding a job. On March 27 at 1 p.m., there will be a class on Google Apps. All classes must be signed up for ahead of time by stopping by or calling the library at 565-8117.

In the Gallery at the Cortez Cultural Center through March: Mancos Schools, from March 15 to 31, Opening Reception will be March 21 from 5 to 7 p.m.

For Pets' Sake Humane Society will host a Low-Cost Dog and Cat Vaccination Clinic from 9 a.m. to noon at the IFA Country Store, 10501 Highway 491 in Cortez. Dog and cat vaccine include rabies, distemper (dogs), leukemia (cats), and more for $41; or $15 for rabies only. Packages without rabies are just $32. A portion of each package purchased will be donated to For Pets' Sake. Call the Humane Society at 565-PETS (7387).

A Free legal self-help clinic for Montezuma County parties without an attorney will be held the second Thursday of every month from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Mancos Public Library, 211 W. First St. Volunteer attorneys will assist one-on-one, via computer link. First-come, first-served basis.

Third Sunday
