Congratulations to the 23 middle school students who traveled to the regional science fair in Durango this week. Dolores Middle School brought home ribbons in nine categories.
Honorable Mention: Madison Lankford (sixth-grade Medicine and Health) and Kiffany Lewis (sixth-grade Environmental Science).
Third Place: Jordan Elder (sixth-grade Environmental Science), Alden Adams (sixth-grade Physics), Elena Cosner (Junior Animal Sciences), Aryelle Wright (Junior Energy & Transportation), and Brennan Hite (Junior Engineering).
Second Place: Kaleb Barkhurst (6th grade Energy & Transportation)
First Place: Dara Suckla (sixth- grade Plant Sciences), Cameron Elder (Junior Animal Sciences), and Tawnee Benavidez and Addie Jones (Junior Team Projects).
Kaleb Barkhurst, Aryelle Wright, and Alden Adams won Empire Electric special awards for projects promoting energy efficiency.
Cameron Elder will be traveling to Fort Collins in April to compete in the Colorado State Science Fair.
