School News Baseball team suiting up for spring camp

Spring Break is this week, so there's not a lot happening at the Dolores Schools. School starts again April 7, and let's hope everyone is recharged and ready for the final push toward the end of the school year.

The Dolores High School Baseball Team is proud to present a Spring 2014 Youth Baseball Camp on April 12. This fun-filled day will help enhance young children's baseball skills, during which they will learn fielding, batting and pitching. Instruction will be provided by the Dolores High School Baseball Team and coaches. The camp fee is $20 for children ages 7 to 12. The camp will begin at 9 a.m. at Joe Rowell Park and will end at 3 p.m. Contact Rusty Hamilton at rustycasemx@gmail.com for more information.

Drama Club's 'Crazy Now'

Mark your calendars, theater lovers. The Dolores Middle/High School Drama Club will put on its first-ever performance on April 25 of Who's Crazy Now? April 25 is opening night, followed by performances on April 26 and again performances on May 9 and May 10. Don't miss this play and stay tuned on how to get tickets and show times.

Break a leg at prom this year

High school students this year can prepare for the prom by working on their dance moves. Social dance classes will be held on Wednesdays, after spring break till the prom from 7-8 p.m. in the art room. Prom this year is May 3. This year's theme is the Roaring 20s "The Great Gatsby Prom." To learn some great dance moves will cost just $3 per class or four classes for $10. A partner is not required.

PTA plans Luau Dance

The Dolores Elementary PTA will host a Hawaiian Luau Dance Friday, April 11 at 6 p.m. in the Commons area. This event is always fun and helps raise money for the Dolores Elementary PTA. There will be raffles, contests and the PTA will serve pizza, hot dogs, chips and more. Dress in your best Hawaiian costume. Compete in the Hula Hoop Contest or see if you can limbo lower than your friends. The Hawaiian Dance is open to Dolores Elementary teachers and students, K-5. Students should be accompanied by an adult.
