10:04 a.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant at Montezuma County Court.
10:31 a.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant after turning himself in at the Montezuma County jail.
12:11 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant at the Southwest Colorado Workforce Center, 2208 E. Main St.
12:52 p.m.: A man and woman were cited for possessing alcohol in City Park, 802 E. Main St.
6:44 p.m.: An ER patient at Southwest Memorial Hospital, who had claimed that he was a victim of assault, was arrested on two warrants.
7:21 p.m.: A man parked in the 400 block of Roger Smith Ave. was arrested on a warrant, and at the jail, was held on suspicion of possessing meth, which was discovered in his shoe.
9:19 p.m.: Two teenage boys were beaten – one of them unconscious – by an unknown man at Cortez Skate Park, 1181 E. Montezuma Ave., in a case investigated as second-degree assault.
Thursday, Aug. 11
11:08 a.m.: Graffiti was investigated in the 500 block of E. Third St.
2:57 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant in the 100 block of N. Park St.
4:25 p.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant in the 800 block of N. Edith St.
6:14 p.m.: A woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting and was issued a no-trespass order at Wal-Mart, 1835 E. Main St.
9:16 p.m.: A woman was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault with a deadly weapon, felony menacing and harassment after allegedly cutting another woman with a knife at the Days Inn, 2604 E. Main St.
Friday, Aug. 12
12:03 a.m.: A Bluetooth speaker was reported stolen from a pickup parked at the Maverik store at 455 State St.
1:42 p.m.: A man was issued a summons for possessing alcohol in Montezuma Park, 15 W. Montezuma Ave.
6:18 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary, second-degree assault, first-degree trespass, criminal mischief and violating bond conditions after he and a resident fought with a baseball bat in the 100 block of S. Linden St. According to the residents, they came home to find a the stranger sitting in their recliner. The male resident grabbed a bat, and a fight began. During the fight, the alleged intruder took the bat from the male resident and hit him at least twice – in the head and chest. The resident was treated at Southwest Memorial Hospital. The alleged intruder was jailed.
8:35 p.m.: A known sex offender residing in the 500 block of E. Montezuma Ave. was issued a summons for failing to verify his location as a sex offender.
Saturday, Aug. 13
6:38 a.m.: An officer investigated a broken window at the Loungin’ Lizard restaurant at 2 W. Main St. but found nothing suspicious inside.
6:41 a.m.: Police pursued a pickup carrying two men and a woman from Mesa Verde Motor Sports north on U.S. Highway 491, east on County Road S, south on County Road 25, and east on County Road P, crossing Colorado Highway 145. Police called off the pursuit about 6:58 a.m., then found a pickup matching the suspect truck abandoned in the 13900 block of County Road 29 about 1:09 p.m. The vehicle was discovered to have been stolen in Aztec, N.M., and possibly linked to two ATM burglaries in Farmington.
7:28 a.m.: A woman transported to a hospital in Grand Junction with a brain injury, and a man was jailed on suspicion of second-degree assault after an altercation in the 600 block of E. Second St. On Aug. 14, the woman said from Grand Junction that she didn’t want to press charges. The officer requested that the case be evaluated by the District Attorney.
2:59 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of stealing $278 in phone devices from Wal-Mart, 1835 E. Main St.
4:55 p.m.: A man reported that a rifle worth $1,000 was stolen from a truck parked at his residence, in the 700 block of Hartman Road.
7:31 p.m.: A man found sleeping in the 300 block of E. Fourth St. was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace and interfering with an officer after he resisted officers’ attempts to detain him.
9:08 p.m.: A woman was arrested on two warrants in City Park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave., after she was discovered sleeping face-down in the grass and would not wake up.
