For local youth baseball players, the Dolores Bears' youth baseball camp provided the thrill of a lifetime.
Held on April 12 at Joe Rowell Park, the camp offered players between the ages of six and 14 the opportunity to learn from current Dolores High School players.
Clearly excited by the opportunity to pitch, hit and field with their high school idols, the camp hosted 28 players and offered an enjoyable experience for all.
In addition, the camp aided in the development of future high school players while raising valuable funds for the Dolores High School baseball program.
"What I have been preaching this year is a culture of baseball," explained Hamilton. "It is big to get these kids introduced to baseball early on."
In light the success enjoyed by this year's camp, the Dolores High School baseball program plans to host a similar event next year.
"Letting the high school kids get out and work with some younger kids was great," said Hamilton.
