Tribute to Heroes: "Celebrating America," 6 p.m. at Lewis-Arriola Community Center. SouthWest Colorado Concerts presents the famous Golden Dragon Acrobats at 7 p.m. at the Cortez Middle School Auditorium. This 26-member company of Chinese acrobats perform astounding acrobatics and traditional dance. A Cinco de Mayo celebration in the Parque de Vida pavilion, noon to 6 p.m., 425 Roger Smith Ave., Cortez. Mexican food, a salsa and chile contest, Mexican music, piñatas and more. Hosted by Vida en Victoria and The Cortez Cultural Center.

A Green Spring Fling, in honor of Earth Day, will feature the bands Big Money and the Corporate Citizens, The Porch Lights, and Little Brother. The free event will be held from 3- 7 p.m. on the plaza behind Stonefish Sushi and Sol Pizzeria. There will be additional green activities, speakers and events for the kids. The Crow Canyon Archaeological Center's director of archaeology, Susan Ryan, speaks at next meeting of the Hisatsinom Chapter of the Colorado Archaeological Society. The Colorado Small Hydro Association is hosting an agricultural hydropower workshop from 6:30-9 p.m. at Nobel Hall on the Fort Lewis College Campus.

Four Corners 9/12 will be hosting question and answer session with County Sheriff Candidates Dennis Spruell and Steve Nowlin. The group will also host David Cox, a candidate for the congressional seat held by Scott Tipton. The meeting will be held in the Cortez Elks Lodge at 7 p.m. .
